FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How should I prepare for service?
There are a few things you can do to ensure your pest control service goes smoothly. Secure children and pets indoors. Remove any personal items from around the yard. Things like children's toys, pet bedding and water dishes, etc. should be removed from your yard prior to service. Make sure your technician can access your entire yard by unlocking gates or providing instructions on how to access the back yard. Prepare to communicate with your technician about any pest issues you have been experiencing recently.
  • Do I need to be home for my pest control service?
Not typically! We'll text you when we're on our way to your house and call you when we're there. You'll get a service report when we're done. Just be sure to leave all gates unlocked so that we can enter the backyard. Also, please secure any pets that may be in the yard. We don't want to accidentally let your critters free! If you are having an issue indoors and need us to come inside, you will need to be home.
  • Will you service the interior of my home? Or just the exterior?
It depends. On our first visit, we will service both the interior and exterior of your home. After that, we will service the exterior every time, and the interior as needed. Effective pest control begins on the exterior. Typically, with careful planning and precise treatments, we can eliminate pests without having to enter your home. Our goal is to take care of pests BEFORE they get into your home! Of course, if pests do make it into your home... we will handle them! Just let us know if you're having issues on the inside and we'll take care of it.
  • Do I need to stay indoors after service?
Yes. It's important to stay off any areas we treat until any liquid products we used have dried. That means no children or pets (or adults!) playing in the yard for around an hour after the end of service. You will receive a report with detailed instructions after each service. This will include information on what products where used, when they were used, where they were used, and how long you will need to stay out of that area.
  • I am seeing MORE bugs after service! Is that normal?
Yes! Especially if it is our first visit to your home. Many of the products we use send bugs running (that's what we want!). It is not uncommon to see an INCREASE in bug activity for a few days after service. The bugs are quite literally running for their lives! This increase in activity should subside within a few days and you will see far fewer bugs than you have before. If it's been a week or more and you're still seeing bugs, let us know! We'll come investigate and get it fixed.
  • The bugs went away for a while after service, but now they're back! What do I do?
Give us a call! Your Bug Guard plan includes unlimited free re-services. If the bugs come back, so do we! Here in Texas, bugs can be persistent. It's not uncommon to need a re-service now and then. We're happy to come back and solve the issue any time.
  • Is your service safe for pets?
Yes! We only use products that are certified by the EPA as appropriate for in-home use around pets, children, etc. That being said... it is important that you follow our instructions carefully! For example, most of our treatments require staying OUT of the area where products was applied for 1 hour after application.
